How you join Old Friend
Old Friend is a text-message service. Joining takes one message that you send us, and one confirmation. There is no form and no account.

The subscriber texts our toll-free number
Consent starts with a message they send us from their own phone. Nobody is added by anyone else, and we never text a number that has not texted us first. The same disclosure shown below appears next to the call to action on oldfriend.app.

We reply with the program disclosure
Program name, message frequency, that rates may apply, and how to stop or get help. No other message is sent until they confirm.

They reply YES to confirm
Only then are they subscribed. We ask for a first name and a handle, then send the day's question right away. After that, one question each morning.

Messages you can expect
- One question each morning at 1pm in your time zone.
- One reminder at 8pm if you have not answered. Reply REMIND OFF to stop these.
- A reply to any message you send us.
- A note when a friend you have connected with shares an answer.
Message frequency varies with how you use the service. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop all messages, UNSTOP to start again, and HELP for help or email hi@oldfriend.app.
